Featured Guitarist Video: Peter Green

Long before the Fleetwood Mac was breaking album sales records with “Rumours”, they were fronted by the talented and enigmatic Peter Green. Through his contributions in blues and rock, Green is still lauded for his excellent phrasing and creation of tone and “textures”, as can be heard in all three songs below.

Notice how he uses feedback in the first two songs, creating a different effect for each. “Albatross” has a much more serene feeling, while “The Green Manalishi” is—as you might imagine after listening to it—inspired by a nightmare Green had.

The final song, “Oh Well”, is Peter Green’s blues rock at its best, and a fantastic execution of musical contrast, going from solo guitar to entire band, to voice only—keeping us listeners on our toes.
